Cultural Representation & Disclaimer
CultureSherpa is an evolving cultural knowledge platform. Profiles are compiled through a structured workflow that combines:
- Systematic literature review of peer‑reviewed ethnographic and anthropological sources
- Public domain / openly licensed cultural documentation and statistical references
- AI‑assisted synthesis constrained by a strict typed schema
- Human editorial curation, validation tooling and quality gates
Respect for Cultural Sovereignty
We recognize that communities are the primary authorities over their cultural knowledge. Representation here does not replace lived experience, self‑determination or internal community protocols.
Living & Diverse Traditions
Practices vary by region, lineage, generation, gender, diaspora context and personal belief. No profile should be read as a single universal description.
Exclusion of Sacred / Restricted Knowledge
We intentionally avoid publishing sacred, initiatory, private ceremonial, or culturally restricted knowledge unless we have explicit documented permission. If you believe sensitive material appears in a profile please contact us immediately.
Community Feedback & Corrections
Community members, cultural knowledge holders, researchers and diaspora voices are warmly invited to help refine accuracy, depth and balance. You can:
- Email: cultural-community@culturesherpa.org
- Submit a structured feedback form (coming soon)
Attribution & Licensing
Current compilation licensed under CC‑BY‑SA 4.0 unless otherwise noted. Traditional knowledge remains with originating communities; we do not assert ownership over culturally embedded heritage expressions.
Removal & Modification Requests
We will acknowledge community requests within 2 business days and begin a transparent review. Urgent concerns (sacred knowledge exposure, harmful stereotyping) receive immediate priority.
Commitment to Continuous Improvement
This disclaimer and our cultural stewardship framework will evolve toward: community review panels, traditional knowledge licensing pathways, transparent revision histories and equitable benefit models.
